As a school within the Reddam House family of international schools, Chesterhouse is well poised with its value add in offering the Cambridge curriculum in both the Prep School and the College.

Reddam House is to build on the excellent foundation Chesterhouse has established and ensure a truly world-class institution of learning – with Excellence in all spheres – academic, sport and cultural. Celebrating the individuality of each student remains our commitment to each child in our care. With Barry Nieuwoudt at the head, known for his passionate and focused leadership, the school will continue to make a positive difference in the community and beyond.

Chesterhouse comprises three schools within the Chesterhouse International Schools banner – the Early Years Development Centre from the age of four years, the Chesterhouse Preparatory School from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and our College from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and enrols children from four years of age to 18 years of age when they complete their matriculation year. Chesterhouse is a co – educational facility enrolling boys and girls in all three schools.

Our internationally recognised Cambridge curriculum in the Junior School phase, forms excellent preparation for the Cambridge curriculum and examinations in our College. Much has been said about education in the last decade – about quality, about content and ultimately about the whole experience for children; their parents who make an investment in their family’s future and about the teachers who prepare our youth for their lives ahead of them. As seasoned and passionate educators, we at Chesterhouse have chosen this internationally acclaimed curriculum because we know without a measure of doubt that it is the best preparation for your child; for tertiary education, for the workplace, for individual achievement and success and most importantly for life.

As you search through our website, please take a look at what each phase of our school so excellently offers your child; whether for your little one entering school for the first time or your adolescent beginning the High School phase, or indeed anywhere in between then. It is in discovering what we offer educationally that you will understand that our model is indeed a well established, well monitored international system that will ensure your child leaves us a happy individual having achieved their potential – be that academically, in sport, in culture and in any other area in life that they enjoy and are good at. As a school with a Christian ethos, we see this as our duty to involve our children and staff in our outreach programmes, a very important facet of Chesterhouse School. As you browse through our website, please take a look at the outreach programmes in the Preparatory School and College, our adopted rural school Blue Mountains and the Gryphon Trust, the development trust that affords those less privileged, an opportunity to engage and be a part of our warm and nurturing school.

We welcome you to contact Chesterhouse for a personal visit and look at the school to perceive the feel of our school, see our children hard at work and play and meet and greet our teachers and supporting staff. (from the Chesterhouse Website)

Chesterhouse College is a terrific private school that has the very highest in education that South Africa has to offer. The classes are small (5-15) people and it is clearly a school of privilege. Having said that though, it does not compromise on anything other than sometimes in sport (as the school is so small, they often do not have the numbers).  They do however have sports that few others do, such as Fencing, Surfing, Mountain Biking, etc etc. This is a terrific school in every aspect of the word.
